Wake up call

July 28, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

The latest shooting in Colorado seems to further reinforce that something is very wrong with our society.

Those of you who are baby boomers will remember how Sunday was the Lord's day. We went to church in the morning, and often visited in the afternoon - or rested, relaxed from the labors of the week - as God commanded us to do. Now people shop, have sporting events and any number of other activities, which seem to be more important than the mere hour to put aside to thank the One who has given us everything.

Added to this are the video games, TV and other media that are desensitizing us, especially our youth, to the value of human life.

Most importantly, abortion has been made legal.

I plead to parents, grandparents, teachers - all of us. One person and family can make a difference. Let's keep holy the Lord's day, (businesses will not be open if we don't patronize them). Respect the value of all life, and don't buy or allow violent media in your home.

Since these things have been in our country, look what has happened. How pleased Satan must be.

I ask you what will you do to try to reverse the direction we are going?
