A Tiffin man accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy in the 1000 block of South Bon Air Avenue Thursday appeared by video in Tiffin Municipal Court Friday.
Jonathon A. Smith, 19, had his bond set at $1 million and also was ordered to have no contact with the victim, according to court documents.
Smith was arrested and charged with rape after a woman in the 1000 block of South Bon Air Avenue reported her grandson had been sexually assaulted in her backyard Thursday afternoon.
A preliminary hearing for Smith has not been set yet, a court spokeswoman said.
