GOLF: In the Thursday Clark Construction Ladies League at Clinton Heights, Madeline Smith has 20 points to lead the second half. Barb Clark is in second with 18 points. Closest to the pin on no. 11 was Shelly Riedel. She also was closest in two on No. 13. The long putt on No. 18 was Kathy McCool.

n Four teams tied for first in Thursday's Retiree's League Scramble at Seneca Hills. Dave Hershey had the long putt on No. 7, while Bernie Tiell was closest to the pin on No. 2.

n Nature Trails will host the Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment (FACT) golf scramble on Sunday. Cost is $200 for a four man team, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, prizes and a meal. For more information, call Clint Clouse at (567) 278-1993 or email clintclouse@gmail.com.

COLUMBIAN: The Athletic Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria.

BASEBALL: The Legends of the Fall Baseball League is taking applications for prospective baseball players in grades 9-12 for the Fremont Ross High's fall baseball program. Applications will be accepted until Aug. 31. Cost is $60. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Players should bring all equipment needed to play except their jersey. FOSTORIA: Fostoria High's cheerleaders will hold a car wash Saturday at Fostoria's AutoZone from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Proceeds will help cheerleaders purchase apparel for the upcoming season.

n The mandatory OHSAA meeting for all 7-12 grade Fostoria Junior/Senior High School student athletes is Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. in the gym. All student athletes and parents must attend.
