Richard H. "Dick" Tate, 79, of Fostoria, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Independence House, Fostoria.
He was born Jan. 9, 1933, in Fostoria, to the Rev. James B. Tate and Alberta Elizabeth (Roddy) Tate-Jones. He married Nancy M. Towles March 8, 1955, in Tiffin, and she preceded him in death June 2, 1994.
Surviving are three children, Claudia and Scott Tate and Terri Tucker, all of Fostoria; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Barbara (Rollie) Johnson of Fostoria, Gwen (Ed) Mays of Toledo and Tamara Tallmadge of Raleigh, N.C.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rosemary "Pete" Piggue; an infant brother, Dennis Jones; daughter, Marie Tate; and a grandson.
There will be no visitation and all services will be private. Burial will be at Knolllcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Kingdom Hall or to a charity of the donor's choice.
