A Green Springs woman is facing several charges of animal cruelty after law enforcement found malnourished dogs and a dead puppy at her residence earlier this month.
Maylee B. McClanahan, 35, was charged with five counts of cruelty to animals, a second-degree misdemeanor, after a Seneca County Sheriff's deputy found a dead 10-week-old Jack Russell mix under a plastic tote outside of her TR 178 residence July 6, according to court documents filed Monday in Tiffin Municipal Court.
Four other dogs outside of the residence were found to be malnourished and infested with fleas and ticks. The dogs also had no food or water, court documents state, and the temperature was 103 degrees.
McClanahan is scheduled to appear in court Monday. If convicted, each charge carries a possible sentence of 90 days in jail and/or a $750 fine.
