Senior citizen homes may qualify for fixes
The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging has obtained funding to provide home repairs for low-income senior residents in Seneca County.
Those eligible must be age 60 or older, live in their own homes and be current on property taxes.
The monthly income guidelines for eligibility are $1,157 for one person living in the home and $1,321 for two residents.
The repairs being offered include repairs to leaking roofs, furnace repair or replacement, wheelchair ramps, accessibility modifications for bathrooms and other needed repairs.

SYCAMORE - Mohawk Historical Society is to present "A Photographic Look at Humor in Today's World" at 7 p.m. Thursday in the narthex of the Sycamore United Methodist Church.
The free program is to focus on the role of laughter in surviving daily tragedies and trials.

to promote health
FOSTORIA - "Healthy Living" is the theme for Saturday's Fostoria Farmers Market at 133 W. Tiffin St.
From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital representatives are to provide blood pressure screenings, recipe cards and bottled water. The Wood County Extension Agency is to distribute literature on safe food preservation practices.
Spaghetti, anyone?
FOSTORIA - In conjunction with the glass festival, Fostoria Community Arts Council is to host a benefit spaghetti dinner 4-8 p.m. Friday in the former bank building at the corner of Main and Tiffin streets. Tickets are $7 and $5 at the door.
War program Sunday
The Civil War Roundtable is to meet Sunday at T.J. Willie's, Tiffin. An optional dinner is at 5:15 p.m.
At 7 p.m., Mark Holbrook is to give an historical interpretation of famed Civil War photographer, Matthew Brady.
