Drawing from the past

July 17, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

Steve McFerren (shown here) was on hand Saturday at Paper and Ink selling limited-edition prints of the 1884 Seneca County Courthouse during the Tiffin Farmers Market. He estimated about 30 of the 12- by 16-inch prints were sold at $19.95.

Now residing in Tampa, Fla., McFerren is a Tiffin native and a professional illustrator who has depicted prominent buildings in numerous cities. He had several of his original drawings on display Saturday.

McFerren also has created 24 drawings of historic buildings in Fremont and other Sandusky County communities. He said he has spent hours researching each structure and writing an abbreviated history to affix to the back of each drawing or print.
