Pantry gets building, van

July 11, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

FOSTORIA - The former Fostoria Food Pantry, now Pantry Plus of Seneca County, now owns a building in downtown Fostoria and a used Ford van, thanks to American Red Cross donations.

John Sherer, coordinator for Pantry Plus of Seneca County called the acquisitions "a real windfall."

The building cost Pantry Plus $48.50 to have the deed recorded and the van cost $16.07 to be transferred into the Pantry Plus name.

Part of the agreement specifies Pantry Plus will provide Red Cross with an office within the building. It will receive free rent and utilities and pay for its phone and computer expenses.

Fostoria Food Pantry was formed in 1983. In 2011, the food bank changed its name to Pantry Plus of Seneca County and will provide food for anyone who lives in Seneca County.

The food pantry is open 9:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays with office hours 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

To learn more, call Pantry Plus at (419) 619-0183.
