New Riegel Superintendent Elaine Nye announced during Board of Education meeting Monday evening that preliminary information indicates the school district will be rated excellent, although they will have to wait for the value-added data to see if they qualify for an excellent with distinction rating. Nye said she received a letter from Hopewell-Loudon School requesting a withdrawal from the Midland Athletic League for football only. Even though North Baltimore had previously decided to move to the Blanchard Valley Conference, she said they are interested in remaining in the MAL if scheduling can be worked out. Further discussions are to take place at a meeting July 17.

Also, Nye asked if the board can determine administrative salary schedules before May 31 so staff members may be notified by July 1.

Nye is to lead a facility tour for the class of 1962 Saturday.
