Lakota super recognized

KANSAS The Lakota Board of Education recognized Superintendent Rebecca Heimlich for her service with an embroidered blanket, flowers and sports pass during the regular meeting Monday evening.

"You're always welcome," said Board President Chris Chalfin.

Heimlich thanked the board, saying "It's been a great experience."

She officially retires August 1.

In other business, the board:

Approved resignations of Brittany Howard as school nurse, Shane Jacoby as physical education/health instructor and Marc Findley as high school guidance counselor.

Approved appointments of Jeanette Perkins as second grade teacher, Deborah Morehart as school nurse, Terry James as head baseball coach, Mark Perkey as assistant baseball coach and Nicholas Petroff as assistant football coach.

Approved assignments of certified and classified substitutes for the 2012-2013 school year.

Approved agreements with NEOLA, Sandusky County Family & Children First Council, Wood County Educational Service Center, Wood County Health Department, and Great Lakes Biomedical.

Approved high school, middle school and band handbooks.

The board is to meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 13.
