Maxine Mae Young, 77, of Tiffin, died at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
Maxine was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Tiffin, to Franklin Ralph and Joyce Ogdon (Tysinger) Helmrich. She married Howard W. Young Jan. 23, 1954, and he preceded her in death March 8, 1979.
Maxine is survived by her five children, Renee (Steve) Tiell and Roger (Lisa) Young of Tiffin, Jack (Robin) Young of Clarksville, Tenn., and Larry (Lisa) Young and Brad Young both of Tiffin; three brothers, Harry Joe Helmrich of Norwalk and Charles Helmrich and Terry Helmrich, both of Tiffin; four sisters, Rosalie Adams of Tiffin, Mary Imogene Dircks of Milan, Marta Joyce Dull of Tiffin and Litltia Craft of Bloomville; a sister-in-law, Lucille Helmrich of Winter Haven, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Maxine was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, cross stitching and spending time with her family. Maxine was a 1952 graduate of Bloomville High School.
Maxine also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Randy and Howard Young III; a brother, Mike Helmrich; and a special friend, Richard Ferguson.
Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-1221, with the Rev. Donna VanTrees officiating. Burial will be at Farewell Retreat Cemetery, Republic, at a later date.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
