World peace is such a lofty goal. In order for it to one day be attained, it must start somewhere. For Sister Paulette Schroeder and the Sisters of St. Francis involved in Project Peace, that start was on parade in Tiffin June 23.
All who took part in the inaugural Tiffin Peace Fair seemed to echo the plea of Saint Francis: "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace." There were many booths that offered free information on how to change our current world view of hatred, violence and war into a culture of love, tolerance and peace.
The Peace Fair, unquestionably a serious undertaking, still managed to be fun for all ages ... the young and the young at heart. The Art Miles Mural Project was impressive and inspirational. The musical entertainment was first-rate, and the weather was picture perfect.
In closing, I would like to invite all peace loving people to join in this worthy effort. To quote from the Cat Stevens hit song: "Everyone jump on the peace train ... something good has begun."
