Tiffin and Seneca County are among the areas under a heat advisory until 9 p.m. today. Heat index values are as high as 104 degrees, according to National Weather Service.
The weather service states hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation where heat illnesses are possible. It says people should drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.
Also, according to information from Aaron Montz, Tiffin's mayor, the fireworks scheduled for tonight at Hedges-Boyer Park still are scheduled to occur.
