FINDLAY - Several local students participated in University of Findlay's Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity.
Derek Wurm, a 2007 graduate of Seneca East High School, is the son of Janette and Anthony Wurm of Attica. He presented "Genistein's Effect on Melanoma Cell Line A375 in Vitro."
Elizabeth Conley, a 2005 graduate of New Riegel High School, is the daughter of Brenda and David Conley of New Riegel. She presented "Safe Patient Handling and Movement Equipment Use Amongst Ohio Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants."
Jessica F. Lynch, a 2009 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School, is the daughter of Ruth and Lawrence Lynch of Bascom. She was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Alexandria Bishop, a 2009 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon, is the daughter of Michelle and Randy Bishop of Fostoria. She presented "The Mathematics of Rating Preferences: A Study of Town Rating Analytics."
Shannon Brickner, a 2005 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon, is the daughter of Rick and Cindy Brickner of Fostoria. She presented "Validity of the Nintendo Wii in High School Athletes with and without Chronic Ankle Instability."
Trina Hosang, a 2006 graduate of Seneca East, is the daughter of Eileen and John Hosang of Attica. She presented "Relationships Among Core Stability, Dynamic Balance and Functional Movement Screen for Collegiate Baseball and Softball Players."
Michelle Kinn, a 2008 graduate of New Riegel High School, is the daughter of Nan Kimmet of New Riegel and Denny Kinn of Alvada. She was named as a graduating senior with a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
Jessica M. Lynch, a 2007 graduate of Bettsville High School, is the daughter of Andrea and Jeff Lynch of Tiffin. She presented "Health Literacy: Evaluating the Patient's Ability to Read, Interpret and Apply Basic Pharmacy Label Instructions."
Mariah Hohman, a 2009 graduate of New Riegel High School, is the daughter of Valerie and John Hohman of Tiffin. She presented "Introducing a New 'R-Word' - Respect" and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Lauren Mathias, a 2009 graduate of New Riegel High School, is the daughter of Sandra and Jim Mathias of Alvada. She was named as a Dana Scholar.
Ryan Wood, a 2010 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon, is the son of Roger and Charlene Wood of Tiffin. Wood performed in the UF Jazz Ensemble.
