The Seneca County Sheriff's Office plans to conduct "high-visibility" enforcement through July 31.
The extra patrol began last week and is to target speeding, seatbelt violations and impaired drivers, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
The goal of the overtime enforcement is to reduce the number of speed- and alcohol-related accidents on Seneca County roadways, and it is funded by a grant issued through Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
The hours are worked on a voluntary basis by deputies at the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, according to the release.
