Raymond F. ‘Ray’ Eickhoff

Raymond F. "Ray" Eickhoff, 92, of Fostoria, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

He was born June 29, 1919, in Hamler, to John and Ella (Roehl) Eickhoff. He married Mae Hunt Feb. 1, 1953, in Oakwood, and she survives him.

Also surviving are his four children, Phyllis Eickhoff Detwiler, Thomas (Cyndi) Eickhoff, Paul "Ferd" Eickhoff, and Janet (Brett) Ashton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilbert Eickhoff.

Ray was a lifelong farmer. Upon retirement from farming, he and his wife, Mae, became the custodians of Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, where they were members. They continued their service there for 23 years. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed time spent with his family and going fishing.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria.

His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2 at Hope Lutheran Church, Fostoria, with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral at church. Pastor William Schultz will be officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Township Cemetery.
