GOLF: In the Clover Club League at Clinton Heights Wednesday, Jim Frederick leads with 27 points. Danny Reamer had the low gross at 38, while Jim Hoffbauer and Jim Frederick each had the low net with 30. Ken Ritzler was closest to the tee box on No. 1, while Greg Fretz had the long drive on No. 2 and Danielle Shoup was closest the the pin after a second-shot chip on No. 5. Tony Latona was closest to the 150-yard marker on No. 7. Joe Blust had the long putt on No. 9. Danny Reamer and Tony Latona won skins.
n Sam King, Dutch Edeburn, Tom Holz and Ron Shoup were six-under par to win the Thursday's Retirees League at Seneca Hills. King had the long putt on No. 9 and Gene Sherer was closest to the pin on No. 2
LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL: The Tiffin Little League Football Golf Scramble will be at 8 a.m. at Clinton Heights July 14. It is $50 per person, which includes golf, a cart, a T-shirt and more. There will be a sports memorabilia auction after golf.
n The first draft for the league will be at 10 a.m. July 7 at Hedges-Boyer Park. The second draft is at 10 a.m. July 28, also at Hedges-Boyer Park. The league is open to players and cheerleaders, grades 4-7 in Seneca County.

FOOTBALL OFFICIATING CLASS: The Tiffin Football Officials Association is sponsoring a class for individuals to become OHSAA certified. The classes begin July 16 and consist of 20 hours of classroom instruction and four hours of on-the-field training. Applicants must then pass a rules test and a mechanics test. BASEBALL TRYOUT: Coast to Coast Baseball will hold tryouts at 10 a.m. on July 13 Ohio University, July 16 at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, July 17 at Kent State, July 18 at Diamond Indoor Sports in Westlake, and July 19 at Bowling Green State University for players age 10-18. Players will be evaluated on hitting, fielding, arm strength and speed. A hitting camp occurs at 2 p.m. after each tryout at the same location. Players accepted into the program may choose to represent the USA in competition, or work with top college coaches and pro scouts at one of the Florida or Arizona Camp and Showcase events held at a MLB spring-training complex. The Diamondbacks finished first in the league following an 8-0 win over the Red Sox. For the Diamondbacks, Clay Bowman singled, tripled and scored twice. Chase Frankhauser had two singles, a triple and three runs scored. Jaxon Harris singled, tripled and scored, while Layla Black singled and scored two runs, while Marissa Tiell had a single.
