Clifford A. Hammersmith, 93, of Bellevue, died Saturday, June 23, 2012.
Clifford was born March 12, 1919, at home, in Groton Township, Bellevue, to August and Catherine (Biebricher) Hammersmith. He married A. Joanne Connors April 21, 1946, and she preceded him in death Feb. 23, 2011.
Cliff is survived by his seven children, Jane Stout, Carol (Locke) Besse, Mary Posey, Mark Hammersmith, James (Sue) Hammersmith, Aaron (Dana) Hammersmith and Paul Hammersmith; his brother, Clarence; sister, Martha (Hammersmith) Neeley; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard; son-in-law, Terry Stout; daughter-in-law, Karen (Forney) Hammersmith; and a great-grandson.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue.
His funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue, with the Rev. Juli Lejman-Guy officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue City Cemetery.
