BREAKING NEWS UPDATE AT 4:30 p.m.: Law enforcement has made contact with the woman who is selling educational material. Chief Keith Turner of Attica Police Department said the woman has proper paperwork to sell the material. There is no need to call the sheriff's office, he said.
BREAKING NEWS: A law enforcement official is encouraging people to call Seneca County Sheriff's Office as soon as possible if a woman who says she is selling educational material on behalf of Seneca East Local School District stops at their home.
Chief Keith Turner of Attica Police Department said a black woman driving a white Honda Accord with a Florida license plate has been in Attica and throughout Seneca County. The vehicle has been spotted in Fostoria as well, he said.
Michael Wank, Seneca East's superintendent, said the woman is not representing the district. The district did not authorize anyone to sell materials or take a survey, he said.
"She has nothing to do with Seneca East Schools," he said.
The sheriff's office can be reached at (419) 447-3456.
