Rita A. Meyers, 83, of Republic, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born July 8, 1928, in Gibsonburg, to Carl and Anna (Wershing) Bauer. She married Floyd A. Meyers June 17, 1950, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, and he preceded her in death in 2008.
She is survived by her four sons, Carl A. (Donna), Gary F. (Karen), Paul G. (Jeanette), and Albert L. (Maureen), all of Republic; three daughters, Karen A. (Stephen) Swartz of Tiffin, Kay A. (Bill) Tate of Republic, and Lori A. (Ken) Rakes of Clyde; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Melva Rodgers, and her infant grandson, Joseph G. Meyers.
Rita was a very religious person who loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Gaspar del Bufalo Altar Rosary Society, and also enjoyed attending Mass at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine. She loved to cheer for her Cleveland Indians, Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes, along with spending time with her dog, Shadow.
A funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 25, at St. Gaspar del Bufalo, 16209 E. CR 46, Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, June 24, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
