Tiffin police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station and attempted to rob another early Monday morning.
Interim Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens said the man, who was allegedly armed with a gun, first attempted to rob Shell Gasoline, 247 S. Sandusky St., just before 2 a.m. There, he told the clerk he had a gun and wanted cash. The clerk refused to give the man anything and he then ran away on foot.
Sixteen minutes later, a clerk at Circle K, 73 Melmore St., reported a man came into the store and demanded money. The clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and he then left. According to Tiffin police reports, the man didn't make any threats or show a weapon during the robbery, and also provided the Circle K clerk with a name.

"As far as we know, he left both of the stores on foot," Stevens said.
The man didn't show a weapon at either store, but kept his right hand in his pocket at each location.
Stevens said both clerks described the man as white and wearing a dark-colored tank top, a white hooded jacket and a red bandana around his face. He also was described as between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall and he had tattoos on his chest and left hand.
"If anyone recognizes the outfit, bandana or tattoos, call the police department," Stevens said.
