Women seeking obstetric and gynecology care have a new option in Tiffin.
Tiffin Women's Care, a branch of Blanchard Valley Women's Care, opened June 1 at 500 W. Market St. Susan Smith, certified nurse midwife, recently joined the practice, and is seeing patients 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Friday at the new location.
Smith said Dr. Carmen Doty-Armstrong, an obstetrician/gynecologist on staff with Blanchard Valley Women's Care, will be at the Tiffin office one day a week.
Smith said she joined Blanchard Valley Women's Care to be part of a private practice with all female providers. After weighing several possibilities, Smith said she decided Tiffin Women's Care would be a positive change for her and a good option for patients. Smith said she welcomes her previous patients to the practice, and new patients are being accepted.
Now, Smith said, the practice's maternity patients will be able to deliver at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She said Tiffin Women's Care has applied for privileges at Mercy Tiffin Hospital, and hopes patients will have the option of delivering there in the future.
