Iretha Rose Werling

Iretha Rose Werling, 85, of Fairfield Avenue, Tiffin, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

She was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Wood County, Ohio, to Carl and Amy (Snyder) Taylor. She married Edward Joseph Werling Nov. 25, 1948, in St. Mary Catholic Church. He died April 15, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Linda) Werling of Olney, Ill., and Stephen (Marilyn) Werling of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Renee (Lloyd) Sand, Margaret Werling, Theresa (Joe) Feasel and Madeline Scherger, all of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren, Michelle (Richard) Reynolds, Christina (James) Moore, James Werling, Daniel Werling, Melissa Payne, John Stewart, Sandra Stewart, Brynnen Castillo, Becky (Joe) Swora, Jennifer Warnement, Thomas, Kevin, and Alysia Scherger, William Feasel and Holly Fitch; and 10 great-grandchildren, Bobby, Nicholas, Jake, Alexia, Noelle, Jose, Pursia, Zandra, Dharani and Asiel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a granddaughter, Crystal Scherger.

Mrs. Werling was a graduate of Melmore High School. She retired as a secretary at C.S. Bell Co. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, Tiffin Optimist Club, Allen Eiry Senior Center, Daughters of Isabella and Autumnwood Auxiliary, had served as a high school CCD teacher and as a volunteer at The Ritz Theatre and Ritz bingo.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, (419)447-3113.

Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the funeral home, followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. The Rosary will be recited in church 20 minutes prior to Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Habitat for Humanity, in care of the funeral home.
