Erika Spitler and Carson Orians exchanged wedding nuptials at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Salem St. Joseph Heritage Society. Kirby Mayor Tim Stansbery, uncle of the groom, officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at Wyandot County Fairgrounds, Upper Sandusky.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Shirley Spitler of Upper Sandusky.
The groom is the son of Kyla and Jim Nordyke and Cliff and Jean Orians.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white strapless, one-piece, A-line gown with a corset closure designed by Maggie Sottero. It also featured Bordeaux taffeta interlocking throughout the bodice. Bustles peeked from beneath the draped A-line skirt, adding to the balloon hem. The fabric had embellished Alencon lace appliques with bustled Bordeaux taffeta along with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads and sequins. She also donned a full-length white satin cloak with fur trimming on the edges and around the hood.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white pine, white roses, calla lilies and stephanotis. The addition of hypercium, nuts and pinecones by the groom's stepmother accentuated the chocolate brown, ivory and evergreen tones.
The maid of honor was Katie Ruffing of Bucyrus. Bridesmaids were Desiree Hauenstein of Bluffton, Ericka Huston of Upper Sandusky and Theresa Sroufe, cousin of the bride, of Westerville. They wore satin and chiffon ballgown-style dresses in dark holly. The chiffon bodices were accented with flora detail on the shoulder and ruched waists flowed into full-satin skirts. They carried custom-made white fur muffs.
The best man was Adam Hauenstein of Bluffton. Groomsmen were Alex Spitler of Carey, brother of the bride, Robb Thiel of Florida, stepbrother of the groom, Mike Thiel of Indiana, stepbrother of the groom, and Michael Stansbery of Upper Sandusky and Dustin Stansbery of Kirby, cousins of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Huston of Upper Sandusky and Brianna Orians of Wharton, niece of the groom.
Flower girls were Haldey Thiel of Indiana, goddaughter and niece of the groom, and Laney Thiel of Indiana, niece of the groom.
The ring bearer was Arden Stansbery of Upper Sandusky, cousin of the groom.
The bride, a 2004 graduate of Mohawk High School, received a bachelor's degree in education from Heidelberg University in 2008. She will receive a master's degree in classroom technology from Bowling Green State University this fall and is a seventh-grade language arts and social studies teacher at Bucyrus Secondary School.
The groom, a 2000 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and a 2005 graduate of Owens Community College, works for Wyandot County.
The couple resides in Carey and plan to travel to Cabo, Mexico, this summer.
