Blake Alton Fruth

Blake Alton Fruth, 78, of Attica, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital Willard.

He was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Fostoria, to Carl A. and Alice M. (Smith) Fruth. He married Naomi P. Foght April 5, 1953, in Tiffin, at Washington Street United Methodist Church, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Patrick (Leanne) Fruth of Carey and Jack Fruth of Attica; four daughters, Peggy (Anthony) Elchert of Ashland, Jane (Greg) Siesel of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Jennifer (Scott) Fisher of Onsted, Mich., and Jill (Frank) Stevens of Clyde; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Mildred) Fruth of Fostoria; a sister, Delialah (Wesley) Hoffdahl of San Antonio, Texas; and his favorite dog and companion, Annie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Fruth was a lifelong dairy farmer and a steward of his land. He loved having his family together and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Attica and also led and played dartball for the church; was a member of Farm Bureau Reed No. 31 Council and was a 1951 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon School.

His funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with Pastor Bob Adelsperger officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.

Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
