John W. Wheeler

John W. Wheeler, 70, of Marengo, died Tuesday evening, June 12, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 28, 1941, in Deshler, to Marion and Virginia (Fosnaw) Wheeler. He was a retired meat cutter for Farmland Foods, New Riegel. John enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors or working with his hands. In his younger years John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with horses. John also enjoyed being around children especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Morgan) Wright of Centerburg; a son, Tony Wheeler of Edgewater, Fla.; six grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Shannon Bumgardner, Cassie, Jessica and Jonathon Wheeler and Libby Wright; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Bumgardner and Brylie Hall.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Wheeler.

In keeping with John's wishes, calling hours will not be observed and a private family service will be at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Marengo.
