Shirley Ann Strecker, 80, of Tiffin, passed away at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Elmwood at the Shawhan, Tiffin.
Shirley was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Fremont, to Stella (Krawetzke) Kennedy and Paul Milton Truman II. She married Dean Van Gilder and they later divorced. She then married Delbert Strecker in 1970 and enjoyed 33 years with the love of her life. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Deborah (David) Lawson; a son, Mark Van Gilder; four grandchildren, Adam (Karissa), Andrew, Aaron and Anne Lawson; a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Lawson; and a sister, Brenda Berman.
Shirley also was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Milton Truman III.
Shirley retired from Tiffin Developmental Center in 1988, after working 25 years in the business office. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends, including her four-legged children, Heidi I, Heidi II and Maggie Mae.
There will be no services at this time. A private celebration of Shirley's life will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
