Who do we turn to?

June 13, 2012
The Advertiser-Tribune

As the European Union battles to save countries such as Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain (affectionately nicknamed PIIGS) from default and collapse, our president and his Marxist minions continue to drag America down the same path with their radical leftist agenda. Even as the PIIGS fight tooth and nail against the austerity programs they must implement in order to save themselves from ruin, the Obama team continues to pile on entitlement debt and cater to the bloated public employee and labor unions with an eye to the re-election campaign. (Which is always foremost in their minds.)

Germany, once again the economic powerhouse of the continent, is all that holds the Eurozone together because France has retreated to a socialist government again. It seems ironic that countries are holding out their collective hands for a bailout from the people they ridiculed 60-some years ago for portraying themselves as supermen.

Rather than spreading the wealth around as the socialist advocate, perhaps Frau Merkel should instead spread the work ethic around a little. (Might be good advice for America too.)

If America defaults on her debts who do we turn to for help? Canada? Mexico? China? Think about it. Another credit rating is coming. Will we be downgraded again? The crisis is Europe could spread to America like a tsunami and sink us both, which could bring on a period reminiscent of the Dark Ages that engulfed Europe following the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.

The one thing we have going for us here is the American spirit and an election in less than six months that will be the most important in our history. Educate yourself this time and vote. We will either survive and prosper or disappear like great civilizations before us.

It's up to you, the voter. Have a nice day,
