Pair of dinner options offered

ATTICA - The Attica Lions Club Father's Day barbecue will be Sunday at the AVR Firehouse in Attica. The club will be serving chicken and pork chop dinners 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Dine in, carry out or drive-through options are available.

UPPER SANDUSKY - A drive-thru pork chop dinner is planned for 4 p.m. June 21 at First Lutheran Church, SR 53, Upper Sandusky.

Chicago trip in the making

Altrusa International of Tiffin is planning a weekend motorcoach trip to Chicago this fall. The bus is to leave Tiffin at 8 a.m. Sept. 22 from the parking lot at Old Fort Banking at Westgate Shopping Cebter. Travelers should reach Chicago by about 1 p.m. Departure time is 3 p.m. Sept. 23 to be back in Tiffin by 9 p.m.

Participants will stay four people per room at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, one block from the Magnificent Mile and four blocks from Navy Pier. A full breakfast is included. The cost is $130 per person, which must be paid to Gloria Fraley at Seneca Computer by Aug. 10. Make checks payable to Tiffin Altrusa.

Two buses will make the trip with space for 112 passengers. Games, a 50/50 drawing and a raffle for a Vera Bradley purse is to take place on each bus.

Farmers markets slated

FOSTORIA - A Father's Day theme is to dominate the Fostoria Farmers Market 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Downtown KeyBank, 133 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.

UPPER SANDUSKY - Wyandot County Farmer's Market is set for 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Wyandot County Fairgrounds, Upper Sandusky.

Gulf Coast painter to teach at Tiffin Art Guild

Tiffin Art Guild is to offer an acrylic Impressionist art class 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. July 21 and 1-4 p.m. July 22. Participants will paint a colorful 16 by 20-inch landscape scene. Class size is limited to 30 people.

The fee is $95 for TAG members and $100 for non-members. Lunch and supplies are included.

Frames will be available for purchase at additional cost. The instructor will have framing tools available to help students create frames.

Gulf Coast historical painter, Joan Daugherty, is the instructor for the class. With 25 published prints, she also is writing a book on painting techniques.

FINDLAY - The Gaslight Gallery in Findlay is featuring the work of member artist Beth Ziss. Her show, "Glass, Glass, Glass," features stained glass, fused glass, and glass mosaics. It is to run through the end of June at the gallery 117 E. Crawford St., Findlay.

FREMONT - Professional photographer Gilbert Gonzalez offers guidance on "How to Copy and Preserve Family Photographs" during a class 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday class at Hayes Presidential Center.

Gonzalez is to offer tips, tricks and techniques for digitizing photographs, documents and small objects. He also explains basic use of software editing and tagging (adding keywords) of photographs for print and online usage. He also will demonstrate the proper use of digital cameras, flatbed scanners and slide/negative scanners.

Admission is $10 adults and $5 students. Call (419) 332-2081 ext. 231 to register.

Tiffin Historic Trust to serve tea

Learn about the "History of Teas" at 12:30 p.m. June 20, while enjoying the traditional beverage served by members and friends of the Tiffin Historic Trust. The Victorian-style tea includes finger foods, fruits and desserts served in the parlor of the Grammes-Brown House.

Jackie Fletcher is to give the program.

Guests are welcome to explore the renovated Victorian-era red brick home at 172 Jefferson St. before and after the program. Seating for the tea is limited.
