FOSTORIA - Kelly and Randina Miller appreciated the compassionate care Community Hospice Care of Tiffin provided for their father before his death more than four years ago. Saturday, they are to host the third Chuck Miller Memorial Run to honor his memory and collect donations for Community Hospice.

"My dad was notified in June of 2007 that he had lung cancer, He had worked for (a foundry) in Fostoria and the cancer developed from that," Kelly said. "They told us we would have 18 months with him, but he died two and a half months later on Sept. 4. That's why I do the poker run and give the money to Community Hospice."

Kelly said the run is open to two and four-wheeled vehicles. The all-day event at the Nest in Fostoria begins at 12:30 p.m. with a blessing by representatives from the Christian Motorcycle Association.

"I've asked them to come and do a blessing of the cars and bikes before they take off. Then, I bought cross pins that we hand out to everyone after the blessing to put on their leather or their bikes," Kelly said.

All the vehicles are to leave at 1 p.m. and return by 5:30 p.m. Registration for the run is $20, which includes a shirt and a poker hand. An additional rider can get a shirt for $10 and a poker hand for $5. Non-registered riders will pay $5 at the door. Shirts also will be sold at the event for $13 X-L and up or $12 for large and smaller.

Entertainment is to begin at 5:30 p.m. with Sakred Groundz, a Christian group from Clyde.

Brit and Sean Williams of Findlay are a father-son duo set to play at 7:15.

The headliner at 9 p.m. is Batter Nine Hello of Bowling Green.

A 50/50 raffle is to be conducted and several valuable prizes are to be raffled, as well. The prizes include Cedar Point tickets, Toledo Walleye packages, tattoos, Black Swamp Candles, a Vera Bradley bag and a portable Harley Davidson grill set. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Proceeds from the event are to be donated to hospice in appreciation for the agency's work with the terminally ill in the community.
