Ortha Cogar

Ortha (Lit Renfro) Cogar, 79, of Tiffin, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Ortha was born July 29, 1932, in Salyer, Ky., to George K. and Minnie (Perry) Perry. She first married Forrest Renfro, and later married Coleman Cogar, and they both preceded her in death.

Ortha is survived by her five children, Patricia (Doyle "Boone") Perry of Parkers Lake, Ky., Roger Renfro of Painesville, Pamela Renfro of Fostoria, Nancy (Ollie "JR") Bloomfield of Upper Sandusky, and Jody (Jeff) Ditmars of Warner Robbins, Ga.; 17 grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Keith, Jorden Perry, Matthew (Barb) Renfro, Wesley Renfro, Timothy (Jenn) Rohrbach, Michael Rohrbach, Joshua Rohrbach, Elizabeth (Andrew) Burk, Mindy Vaughn, Jesica Bloomfield, Ashley (Keith) Duncan, Alex Winter, Maria Winter-Surgener, Austin Ditmars, Emily Ditmars, Jeffrey Silverwood, and Bethany Schieber; 15 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Barbara Warman; and a nephew, Carl "Leonard" Perry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; five brothers, Ansil, James, Coy, Preston, and Thomas Perry; and four sisters, Lucy Nelson, Ethel Keith, Hazel Feight, and her twin sister, Dorothy Dull.

Ortha was a homemaker and a member of the Eighth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.

The funeral is 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, at the Eagle Creek Baptist Church in Parkers Lake, Ky., with Boone Perry officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends is 2-6 p.m., Monday, June 11, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin, and Tuesday from 7 p.m. until Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Eagle Creek Baptist Church in Parkers Lake.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
