Signatures are being collected on a petition to place "The Voters First Amendment" on the November ballot. The petitions aim to amend the Ohio redistricting known as gerrymandering, which is the process of redrawing congressional district lines in favor of one party over the other.
Politicians, lobbyists and political insiders are not permitted on the redistricting panel, nor can they appoint or remove Commission members. Passing this amendment would give Ohio voters a real voice.
We believe voters should choose their politicians; politicians should not choose their voters.
Petitions are available for signing at Ohio Education Association, 674 Miami St., Suite A, Tiffin. Stop at the office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.) until Friday.
