A Texas man was cited with failure to yield at an intersection following a three-vehicle accident that injured seven people Thursday evening in McCutchenville.
According to reports from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, Manuel Sierra, 78, had been northbound on South SR 53 when he attempted to make a left turn onto SR 587 and struck a southbound vehicle head-on. The vehicle, driven by James R. Gucker, 50, of McCutchenville, then struck another vehicle that was stopped and heading eastbound on SR 587 at SR 53. That driver, Rocky A. May, 32, of Sycamore, was not injured.
Sierra and Gucker both were transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital and five passengers in Sierra's vehicle, Michael A. Sierra, 20, of Fostoria, Laurie J. Sierra, 52, of Fostoria, Suzanne L. Jackson, 80, of Fostoria, Noah Sierra, 14, of Fostoria, and Natividad Sierra, 85, of Texas, also were transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
