FOSTORIA - Fostoria police are investigating an armed robbery reported early Friday morning at Circle K, 551 E. Lytle St.

Fostoria Police Chief John McGuire said a clerk was walking out of an employee restroom just after 4 a.m. when a man described as white with blond hair and about 5 foot, 7 inches and wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a face mask, brandished a sawed-off shotgun.

The man demanded money from the safe and register and was able to get an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, McGuire said.

He also stole cigarettes from the gas station and left the area on foot. The clerk was not injured.

"We do have some evidence we're working on, but haven't made any arrests yet," McGuire said.

The incident remains under investigation, he said.
