A Fostoria man was treated and released from Fostoria Community Hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the foot Thursday morning.
Fostoria Police Chief John McGuire said the man had been walking out to a field to shoot a groundhog when he accidentally shot himself in the foot with a 22 long rifle just before 10 a.m.
According to Fostoria Police reports, the man called police from the 1000 block of Sandusky Street.
