William C. "Bill" Riley, 59, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, May 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1952, in Tiffin, to Wayne C. and Marilyn L. (Linker) Riley. He married Sandra J. Triana Aug. 30, 1986.
Survivors include his parents; wife, Sandy; son, Kevin Riley of Sylvania; two daughters, Tricia (Chris Tiell) Glowniak of Tiffin and Amy (J.P. Parsons) Glowniak of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Dan (Dana) Riley of Catawba Island and Tom Riley of Tiffin; and granddaughter, Julia Tiell.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Vicki Riley.
Bill graduated in 1971 from Columbian High School and attended University of Michigan. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He was the director of sales for Quality Welding; formerly Erie Industries. Bill was the past president and vice president of Izaak Walton, maintained the pond, and also helped out with the youth fishing derby. He volunteered his time to the community; participating in the river cleanup, street cleanup and at Miller Farm. He received the "Everyday Hero Award" in 2009 and the "Volunteer of the Year Award" in 2009. He was a past member of Tiffin Eagles, Ducks Unlimited and the NRA. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors; which he called "God's Church."
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin, with the Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. There will be no burial at this time.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May, 21 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883 and from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to FACT, Izaak Walton League or Community Hospice Care.
