Health fair set for Wednesday in Fostoria

Fostoria Community Hospital and Fostoria Area Health Ministry are to host the 10th annual Healthy, Wealthy and Wise Health Fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Stacy's Place, 625 Plaza Drive, Fostoria.

Free screenings are to be available to participants and include blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat analysis, bone density, skin damage, osteoporosis/bone density and diabetic foot. A cholesterol/stroke screening is to be offered for a $10 fee. Through a donation from ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation, a colorectal cancer screening kit is to be given to participants.

The health fair is to feature an educational program series. All programs are to be in the meeting room at Stacy's Place, and last about 20 minutes. The schedule:

10:15 a.m., "Meeting Your Healthcare Needs" by Community Health Services.

10:45 a.m., "Keeping Your Pet Healthy" by Timothy Stacy, veterinarian, Tri-County Veterinary Clinic.

11:15 a.m., "Medicare Pitfalls" by Russ Dunmire, Medical Cost Care.

12:15 p.m., "Social Security: More than Meets the Eye Preparing for Retirement with Individual Strategies and Methods."

Also, more than 45 information booths, including local, regional and state organizations, are to be available, and more than 40 door prizes are to be given away. A light lunch is to be offered to the first 300 attendees compliments of John Irwin of Edward Jones.
