Arthur P. "Art" Norris, 93, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Art was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Wyandot County, to Walter and Mae (Bardon) Norris, both of whom are deceased. He married Anna Belle Holdcraft Nov. 23, 1942, in Sycamore, and she passed away March 28, 2010.
Art is survived by two sons, Don (Sandra) Norris of Sycamore and Patrick (Debbie) Norris of Nevada; three grandchildren, Jenny (Duane) Ham, Laura (Tim) Lewis and Jason (Emily) Norris; and six great-grandchildren, Dylan and Sydney Ham, Scott, Ashley and Hannah Lewis and Isabella Norris.

Art also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Warren Norris.
Art owned and operated Norris Welding Shop, Nevada from 1938 until January of this year, when he had to stop working due to health reasons. Along with his busy welding shop business, Art enjoyed farming on the side.
Art was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, Upper Sandusky, for over 50 years, where he formerly served on the consistory, as an elder, deacon, a Sunday school teacher and played on the dart ball team. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 462, Nevada, where he served as the chaplain and was a past commander.
For hobbies, Art enjoyed bowling, fast pitch softball in his younger years and traveling to the west coast and Florida with his wife.
A funeral for Arthur P. "Art" Norris will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Martin Stiffler officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
