Bucks in familiar spot

Prep Baseball Roundup

The Advertiser-Tribune

SHELBY - Not even a delay could keep Buckeye Central from rolling.

Two days after rain halted play with the Bucks sitting on an 11-0 lead, reliever Jacob Zeiter breezed through an inning of work to cap an 11-0 win, marking the seventh sectional title in a row and the third consecutive 20-win season Buckeye Central.

Zeiter scattered a hit, walk and strikeout two days after starter Tyler Erwin (5-2) fanned seven and allowed only three hits and a walk.

Erwin also homered, singled and tallied two RBIs, and Zeiter added a double for the Bucks (20-5), who face Sandusky St. Mary in the 2 p.m. district semifinals Wednesday at Colonel Crawford.

Justin Herrnstein and Chase Finney each scored twice, doubled and singled, with Herrnstein also driving in two runs. Jordan Herrnstein scored twice and doubled, and Adam Paynter scored twice, knocked in a pair and singled.
