Members agreed to combine precincts for an Aug. 7 special election at the Seneca County Board of Elections meeting Monday.

"It is for the Clyde/Green Springs School Levy," board member Jim Fruth said.

Although the school district will be paying for it, there will be chargebacks to the schools, according to the board.

"We are going to send Pleasant Township voters to Green Springs, just for the special election," BOE Director Janet Leahy said.

In another matter, the board discussed attending one of several election officials conferences in June.

Secretary of State Jon Husted announced a change to have conferences for board members at universities across Ohio this year, as opposed the usual Columbus location.

"They are doing this to save money," BOE Chairwoman Mary Puffenberger said.

Five universities are hosting the conferences.

The conferences usually are informative and answer their questions well, Puffenberger said.

Board members are waiting to make plans until they find out the registration method and cost.

In other business, minutes were approved from the April 2 meeting and the yearly county personnel policy manual is being reviewed.

The board will have its next meeting at 4 p.m. June 5.
