A first-block Douglas Street resident reported Saturday evening a person went to the back door and wanted to enter the house, but the resident refused. The person said "save me" and left southbound.

Firefighters were called to open burning at 210 McDougal St. Saturday night. They found a resident with a fire pit in the driveway. They advised the resident of open burn laws and extinguished the fire.
