Sydney Schmucker opened the bottom of the eighth with a single. Gabby Schmucker batted next for TC, and hit into a fielder's choice. The next batter, Autum Kuzma, sacrificed Gabby Schmucker to second.
That brought up Valesha Province, who grounded to deep short. With Schmucker off on contact, the Van Buren shortstop attempted to get the out at third, but the ball got away from the third baseman. With that, Province went to second, prompting a throw that again got away. That allowed Gabby Schmucker to score the winning run.
Columbian scored four runs in the fifth. It had six hits overall, all singles. Paige Correll singled and drove in a run. She also got the win in the circle, going all eight innings and striking out six.
Columbian improved to 3-20.

Upper Sandusky steals one
GALION - There's an idea that stolen bases aren't all that important, a chance best not taken.
Upper Sandusky's players apparently don't believe that. They certainly didn't Wednesday.
The Rams stole 10 bases, hammered 16 hits, and beat the Tigers, 10-3.
Savannah Piecha had three hits, scored two runs and stole three bases to pace the Rams. Allie Smith started in the circle and allowed three runs on five hits.

NORTH BALTIMORE - North Baltimore's Jessica Frost struck out 11 Carey batters and held the Blue Devils to just two hits in a 2-0 Tiger victory.
