FOSTORIA - A legacy of sorts was presented by the family of Rick Reinhart to the city of Fostoria with the fire department being the main beneficiary.

Reinhart, father of paramedic Fred Reinhart, died in late December and in his honor the family collected nearly $1,000 which was donated to the city and used for the purchase of a saw. The saw may be utilized for removing parts of motor vehicles for entry and recovery and other applications.

The Reinharts were honored with a certificate of appreciation by Mayor Eric Keckler.

Council action included approving a resolution which expresses the intent of spending capital improvement money from Fund 401.

In his report, Keckler announced activities related to the National Day of Prayer today, including a breakfast at the Kiwanis at 7:30 a.m., prayer service at Good Shepherd Home at 8 a.m., and a service at noon on the front lawn of city hall.

He also announced that entry forms are available in the mayor's office or online at www.fostoriaweb.com for the Glass Festival Pageant, to be held May 24.
