Norma Kummerer

Norma Kummerer, 69, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, April 29, 2012, at her home.

She was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Brandon, Ind., to Henry and Lula (Tiery) Rogier. She married David Kummerer Nov. 3, 1962, in San Diego, Calif.

Survivors include her husband David, of 49 years; two daughters, Kimberly (William) Matheny of Tiffin and Laura (John) Louder of Deland, Fla.; a brother, Earl (Rita) Rogier of Tiffin; three sisters, Helen Wynn of Tiffin, Betty Smith of Perrysburg and Evelyn (Mike) Wagner of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Hilda Steiner and Naomi Wagner.

Norma was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was a 1960 graduate of Calvert High School. She retired in 2004 from Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services, where she had worked for more than 10 years. Norma enjoyed her flowers, camping at Lake Erie, spending time with her friends and riding with her husband on their motorcycle. She was a past member of Tiffin Moose.

Her Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Roemmele officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to FACT or Community Hospice Care.
