About to release a new CD, "A Thousand Miles Left Behind," the pop country trio Gloriana is to make a stop at the Ritz Theatre in Tiffin for a 7:30 p.m. show May 5.

The band includes brothers Mike and Tom Gossin and Rachel Reinert. Their harmonic sound was influenced by Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash, Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts.

A press release states their debut hit-single "Wild at Heart," made Gloriana the best-selling debut country act of 2009, catapulting them to win the Academy of Country Music's Award for Top New Vocal Group the following year. The pre-release single "Wanna Take You Home" and the band's current Top 40 hit "(Kissed You) Good Night" have been giving fans a preview of the new album.

The Gossin brothers spent their early years in upstate New York and later moved to North Carolina. Tom plays guitar and keyboard, while Mike plays drums and guitar. After performing and perfecting their duo act in numerous clubs, they moved to Nashville in 2007. There, they hooked up with Reinert. Born in Florida, she had lived in Georgia and California before moving to Nashville at age 17. She is a songwriter, vocalist and guitar player. Lastly, they added singer and mandolin player Cheyenne Kimball who left Gloriana in July 2011.

The artists put together a live show and recorded a demo that got them signed at Emblem Music Group. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2009. "Gloriana" debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, No. 3 on the Top 200 chart and spawned the gold-certified hit single "Wild At Heart." Gloriana also won the fan-vote American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist, as well as the "Nationwide On Your Side" honor at the CMT Awards, according to the group's web site.

For two years, the band toured and performed with such artists as Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn and the Zac Brown Band. In 2010, Gloriana won the Academy of Country Music's Award for Top New Vocal Group and were nominated for a Teen Choice Award for "Choice Country Group."

The second CD has been described as "an appealing mix of up-tempo, good-time numbers," such as "Wanna Take You Home," "Sunset Lovin,'" "Go OnMiss Me," "Doin' It Our Way" and graceful, heartfelt tunes. "(Kissed You) Good Night" is climbing the country charts, while its accompanying video (starring Megan Park and Tyler Hilton) had its premiere on ABC "Family" in January. Other tracks include "Can't Shake You," "Turn My World Around," "Carolina Rose" and "Soldier Song," the web site states.

Old Fort Banking Co. is the sponsor for Gloriana at the Ritz. Tickets range from $20 to $55. For more information and to buy tickets, visit www.ritztheatre.org, stop at The Ritz Theatre Box Office, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin, or call (419) 448-8544.
