People walk during the "Do it for Deacon Dan" 5K walk and run event at Hedges-Boyer Park Sunday afternoon. Clint Bogner, Alex Recker, Nathan Somers and Ryan Somers organized the activity for a senior project at Calvert High School. Proceeds from the 5K, which was in memory of Deacon Dan Scherger, who died last summer, are to fund a scholarship for an incoming freshman at the high school.
