Joseph M. Reinhart, 80, of Bascom and Findlay, passed away on his birthday, Thursday evening, April 26, 2012, in Columbus.
He was born April 26, 1932, in Alvada, to Marcellinus and Rosella (Bleckinger) Reinhart. On July 7, 1953, he married Anita Phillips, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He later married Lydia Flores July 15, 1991, and she also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald J. (Leean) Reinhart of Niantic, Conn., and Donald E. (Sandra) Reinhart of Bascom; one daughter, Rita Rose Theis of Port Clinton; a step-mother, Florence Reinhart of Tiffin; two step-sons, Michael (Sue) Baxter and LeRoy Reza; three sisters, Viola Welly and Betty (Michael) O'Connor, both of Tiffin, and Susan (Michael) Reidling of Waynesfield; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Joseph was in the United States Navy from 1951-1954. He worked at Columbia Gas for 35 years as an operations clerk. He was a member of the Catholic Knights of Ohio, DAV, Tiffin Moose Lodge No. 846, AMVETS Post 48, Tiffin, American Legion, New Riegel, and the Eagles Aerie No. 402, Tiffin.
His Mass of Christian burial is noon Monday, April 30, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. A rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 354, New Riegel.
