Sale to benefit youth group
Family of Faith Lutheran Church is having a Market Merchant Day to benefit its youth program. The sale is to be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. today in the church's space at Tiffin Mall. Family of Faith Youth are preparing for a trip to Nashville, Tenn., July 5-8 for an event is called "Kids Against Hunger."
In addition to a bake sale, find gifts for Mother's Day, graduation, weddings and birthdays. All merchants are to have information about starting one's own business. The vendors include Premier Designs Jewelry, Union Springs Wellness, Melaleuca Wellness Co., Tupperware, 31 Bags, Avon, Pampered Chef, Stamping Up, Stanley Home & Fuller Brush, WildTree, Pink Zebra, HerbalLife, It Works, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Scentsy and Longenberger Baskets.
Day of Prayer observances
Tiffin Columbian STAND is to have a community service Thursday to observe the 2012 National Day of Prayer. The service is to be 6:45-7:30 a.m. at Columbian Stadium Memorial, near the tennis courts. In the event of inclement weather, the service would be under the stadium.
"Pray for Fostoria" is to take place at noon Thursday on the lawn at the Municipal Building. Four local ministers are to lead the service.
Celebrate Friendship Day with a noon potluck
Church Women United plans to celebrate Friendship Day with a potluck at noon Friday at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St. The theme for the luncheon is to be "Listening to My Sisters," and a program is to be presented by St. Mary Catholic Church, First Christian Church and Trinity United Church of Christ. Fellowship of the Least Coin also is to be celebrated. Attendees should bring a food dish and table service.
Gospel singing set for May 5
TGMA Gospel Music Promotions presents a gospel singing and dinner from 4-7:30 p.m. May 5 at Shoey's Cool Creations Restaurant, Tiffin. Featured performers are to be Arda Beekman, Sandi & Kaylene and Cornerstone.

four spring programs
St. Francis Spirituality Center has scheduled four programs during May.
"The Three Churches of Francis and Clare" Day of Reflection, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 5, Elizabeth Schaefer Auditorium. Sr. Margaret Carney, OSF is the presenter. The cost of $25 includes lunch.
Caring for the Caregivers, a day for nurses and nursing assistants, family and friends, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 10, spirituality center. Martie Aiello is coordinating the event, and Tom Bridinger is conducting a writing exercise. The fee of $25 includes lunch.
A Heart of Nonviolence: Making room for peace at home and in the world, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 12, spirituality center, sponsored by Project Peace. Explore dimensions of violence in everyday life, learn skills for peaceful relationships, experience the spiritual elements of nonviolence. Facilitators Josie Stezler and Sr. Paulette Schroeder. Melting Pot open at shrine in Bellevue for Sunday dinner
