Donald G. Messinger, 69, of Tiffin, passed away at 9:07 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, Columbus.
Donald was born Oct. 28, 1942, in West Virginia, to Cecil and Alma Mae (Beard) Messinger. He married Alma M. Glick March 24, 1962, in Tiffin, and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald Gregory (Christina) Messinger of Pataskala and Douglas George Messinger of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Dana Gayle (Thomas) Cook of N.C. and Deborah Gay (Brian) Eicher of Greenwood, Ind.; a brother, George Talmage of Columbus; three halfbrothers, Cecil Messinger Jr. and Roger Messinger, both of N.C. and Eldon Ray Messinger of Calif.; a halfsister, Patty Messinger of Chicago; and 11 grandchildren.

Donald retired from American Standard where he worked for 38 and a half years, was a member of First Baptist Church, Orlando, Fla., and was a 1961 graduate of Bettsville High School. Donald enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR, Ohio State football, classic cars and listening to southern gospel music.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and a halfbrother, Paul D. Harrison.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at The Journey Church, Tiffin with Pastor Brian Eicher officiating. Burial will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin.
