The Fremont Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal accident that occurred about 1:47 p.m. Friday on SR 53 at CR 592 in Pleasant Township.
Abigail C. Johnson, 16, Marengo, was killed in the crash. She had been driving a 1995 volkswagen Jetta southbound on SR 53 when her car struck the trailer of a semi rig driven by Glen R. McElroy, 68, Barberton.
The truck driver had been eastbound on CR 592 and had stopped at the junction with SR 53 before pulling out to head north on the state route. Johnson's car became pinned under the trailer.

The teenager, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. John's Towing had to lift the trailer to extricate her from the vehicle.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Old Fort Volunteer Fire Department, Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Ohio Department of Transportation, Tiffin EMS, the Seneca County Coroner's Office and John's Towing.
The patrol stated alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
